POSITION SUMMARY

Performs general maintenance involving carpentry, mechanics, hydraulics, pipe fitting, welding, electricity, electronics, plumbing, and other related trades. Responsible for maintenance and repair of all plant production equipment and facilities. Performs maintenance and repair on company vehicles and powerful industrial equipment. Must have good understanding and experience with machine repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Performs operations to inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair production equipment and facilities and maintenance on company vehicles.
• Maintains documentation on maintenance management activities and when production equipment is serviced.
• Orders parts and install new or re-located equipment..
• Performs maintenance involving carpentry, mechanics, hydraulics, welding, electricity, electronics, plumbing, etc.
• Performs operations including chassis modifications, hoist and equipment installations and other installation department functions, such as wiring, plumbing for hydraulics, and fabricating.
• Performs general building maintenance and repair on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, Lighting, etc.
• Makes sure production equipment is safe and fully operational.
• Notifies purchasing when required material is at minimum levels.
• Makes sure that work area is kept clean and organized at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Two years of college or technical school
• Two years maintenance/mechanic experience

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must have the ability to communicate to the supervisor and to understand safety rules and follow directions given by the supervisor.
• Competent in all types of mathematical computations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds. 100% standing and walking Perform work from a ladder and at heights. Often works in awkward positions with bending and stooping. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
