What you will do . .

• Perform and repair work to all types of building systems and some mechanical equipment within the hotel and grounds.
• Assist guests with service requests on an as needed basis.
• Learn, understand and become proficient in all computer-based systems utilized by the Engineering department (i.e. energy management systems, electronic key systems, CMMS systems, HVACR controls, etc.).
• Work frequently with electrical circuits, plumbing systems as well as various power and hand tools.
• Meet challenges with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Perform work so that it is done on time and satisfactorily to all parties concerned
• Consistently provide and maintain the highest standard of guest care and service
• Maintain all grooming standards and ensure that the designated uniform is worn, well pressed and in a good state of repair at all times.
• Perform duties for your department on request from your Supervisor/Head of Department.

This job is for you if you . . .

• 3+ years working in a hotel or apartment complex maintenance
• Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related hotel experience and/ or training recommended; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Are able to communicate both written and verbally, write routine reports and correspondence in English, preferably multilingual.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from Owner, investors, purveyors, guests, customers, the general public and/ or all staff members.
• Can work with general mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to follow and abide by all cash handling procedures and maintain a cash bank.
• Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to analyze a situation and respond with good judgment and communicate accordingly.
• Are able and willing to work any shifts, including weekends and holidays, with no guaranteed set schedule and likely split days off, possibly working fewer than and/ or more than the expected hours per week as business volume dictates.
• Regular use of hands to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, and go up and down stairs, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Can occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
• Are able to work with noise level that’s usually moderate.
