General Description:
Responsible for operating MZR as well as shop and plant upkeep. The maintenance helper operates equipment such as, but not limited to, hand and power tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, torches, drills, forklifts, cranes, files, and grinders. Wears protective safety gear as required.
Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
Experience:
Six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of hand tools and equipment as described above. Knowledge of specific and general safety policies and procedures as it relates to the plant and the position. Oral comprehension and expression. Ability to read and write. Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of personnel. Knowledge of basic math, algebra, geometry and their applications. Inductive and deductive reasoning, ability to evaluate and diagnose problems and draw conclusions.
Essential Duties:
- Operate MZR machine
- Grounds and shop maintenance
Work Environment:
Consists of smoke, irritating particular impurities, chemical fumes and hot and cold temperatures.
Physical Demands:
Majority of the time is spent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have good eye hand coordination.
