Maintenance Manager Job at Experis

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Partner with plant leadership to drive a robust culture of safety & quality based on
  • recognition and accountability
  • Develop and deliver on maintenance programs with an emphasis towards OEE-based
  • performance
  • Responsible to maintain manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitor PO’s,
  • invoice approvals, and manage department budget
  • Work with corporate and site engineering to oversee capital expenditure
  • Oversee plant utilities including steam generation, power distribution, glycol, ammonia,
  • cooling towers, domestic tempered water, plant HVAC systems, water distribution
  • systems, fire suppression, etc.
  • Train and enforce GMP practices, zoning requirements, tool cleaning procedures, etc.

  • Develop training plans for employees to build technical capability and adherence to plant
  • safety and quality goals
  • Manage a safe working environment for all mechanics, automation technicians, utilities
  • maintenance, WWTP operators, engineers, etc.
  • Oversee the wastewater treatment plant and ensure compliance with regulatory
  • requirements
  • Provide emergency response
  • Develop and establish a robust preventative and predictive maintenance program
  • Work directly with vendors, contractors, and data to understand planned PM
  • requirements and improvements
  • Maintain plant engineering library (drawings, functional descriptions, GA’s, etc.)
  • Manage maintenance support services including parts purchasing, contractor scheduling
  • & alignment, and maintenance planning
  • Responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of the maintenance
  • parts inventory, purchasing, and planning ERP
  • Develop leading and lagging KPI’s critical to demonstrate maintenance performance
  • (e.g., OEE, planned vs. unplanned work, labor allocation, PM schedule adherence,
  • process stops, minor stops, cost of maintenance, unplanned downtime, breakdown etc.)
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to improve plant reliability including defect
  • handling, CIL (clean inspect lubricate), breakdown analysis, etc.
  • Partner with plant personnel and direct reports to resolve customer concerns and root
  • cause analysis for off spec production
  • Perform FMEA analysis for facility during construction and during plant operation;
  • implement mitigation strategies cross-functionally with other project team members
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with plant management, customers and
  • vendors
  • Work cross-functionally to develop robust electronic systems (PM program, maintenance
  • training, safety tools and resources, etc.)
  • Engage with vendors and contractors to perform maintenance; be accountable for
  • vendor and contractor performance.
  • Organize process auditing and process auditing controls to bring visibility to PM quality,
  • time allocation of maintenance resources, cost control, and adherence to safety and
  • GMP standards
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and flexibility to meet commissioning and operational
  • needs post-commissioning
  • Perform additional assignments made by the corporate engineering team / Site Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Experience in dairy, beverage, packaging, or processing industry.
  • Ability to work effectively with all plant employees and build effective solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, plant automation, fluid processing, carpentry, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, steam generation, and refrigeration
  • Good technical understanding of manufactured food products
  • PSM and risk management experience with an ammonia refrigeration system preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot reliability issues in a manufacturing environment in a plant that operates 24/7
  • Demonstrate knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field OR an associate degree in a technical field with the correct combination of leadership experience
  • 8 to 10 years combined experience in plant maintenance and engineering; minimum of 5 years in supervisory capacity
  • Maintenance experience with fluid, butter & powder production
  • Consumer packaging preferred
  • Experience with process control systems, PLC’s, instrumentation, and automation required
  • Complete understanding of computer driven process controls for a food or beverage manufacturing facility, and PC literate required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $139,109.21 - $155,496.07 per year
