Job Description Summary

This position reports to the Plant Engineer along with the Maintenance Supervisors. Plans repair and maintenance work for maintenance department.
Job Description
This person shall be required to work closely with plant management, maintenance supervisors, purchasing department, maintenance personnel and parts room people. Provide periodic training on the computerized inventory, purchasing and PM system.

Determine and assign priorities for all PM and work orders.

Develops and maintains a plant hierarchy system with all plant assets and equipment.

Ensures new equipment is captured in CMMS and maintenance specifications, warranty and recommended spare parts are entered.

Performs planning of all PM and scheduled equipment repairs.

Coordination of work orders as requested by individuals or those generated through the PM Master system.

Determine the labor and materials requirements for work requests and initiate the purchasing steps necessary to procure needed materials.

Collect equipment specifications and expand the plant hierarchy system to include equipment specifics such as drive, bearing belt sizing and other pertinent equipment information.

Determine tolerances, measures or other specifications to ensure work is performed to designed levels.

Determine safety requirements to ensure Team Member is informed of issues.

Develops and maintains a backlog of work orders in “ready” status.

Notes special regulatory requirement on work orders for Team Member.
Reviews completed work orders for proper documentation and feedback on changes, revisions, or suggestions and controls work orders to document regulated checking of equipment before closure.

Responsible for maintaining “Preventative Maintenance Program” for all pieces of equipment located throughout the facility.
Work closely with the maintenance supervisors to determine and assign priorities for all plant PM and work orders.

Write additional PM’s as required through failure analysis to improve plant reliability.

Analyzes work order system and provides feedback on problem areas.

Performs database changes in conjunction with the IS group.

Develop reports that will be used by the maintenance management group to insure resources are properly utilized.

Ability to perform all receiving, purchasing, parts room, and maintenance planning functions.

Develop list of parts needed to support the long range plans for scheduled plant shutdowns.

Develop work order audit program and manage execution of program.

Develop job plan library for historical reference.
Responsible for corrective maintenance backlogs, and standard job/plans.

Prepares and maintains lockout and tag-out procedures necessary to meet OSHA requirements as well as provide a safe work environment for our employees. This procedures shall be attached with the work orders as they are generated.

Responsible for administrative reports, interdepartmental coordination (schedule work to and from appropriate work center), documentation, and confirmation.

Coordinate with Plant Engineer/Maintenance Supervisors in the installation of new equipment.
Coordinate with the Purchasing Department for the issuing of purchase orders to venders.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

SAFETY:
Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including, but not limited to, the lock out/tag out procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Maintenance lead/planner experience or technical degree preferred.
PC skills and a basic knowledge of database structure are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions in English. Have the ability to effectively write routine reports, correspondence, and able to communicate efficiently with groups of employees in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in math to the level of algebraic equations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out verbal and written instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid driver’s and lift truck license preferred.
WEEKEND WORK:
Must be available to work cycle stops and scheduled downtimes when required.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Understand the general plant processes, ability to interact with all departments. Possess advanced computer skills, the ability to understand basic mechanical skills required for packaging, electrical. Understand “Basic Equipment Care” i.e. lubrication, fasteners, alignment and bearing fundamentals.
Must be able to generate maintenance reports, comprehend equipment reliability and have the ability to implement programs to improve Technical Overall Equipment Efficiency and production rates.
