Position Summary: Processing Maintenance
Processing Maintenance is responsible for completing both scheduled preventative and unplanned priority repairs and maintenance in a timely and efficient manner to ensure all processing equipment, machinery, tools, facilities, etc., are functioning properly according to established standards and expectations. This role requires the consistent application of a comprehensive general maintenance skill set in electrical, motor controls, mechanical, welding, packaging equipment and systems, plumbing, carpentry, etc. Assists the Farm Maintenance team as needed with day to day operations of our farms. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity working with processing and packaging equipment and conveyor systems. Processing Maintenance requires knowledge of a number of different computer and electrical systems, and structural integrity and components of buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all company rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety
- Complete planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities of plant and equipment
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational machine and resource efficiencies
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
- Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards
- Work productively in a team environment and assist in any areas or operations as assigned
- Perform general administration tasks as necessary
- Manage sub-contractors as required
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations
- Attend meetings, training, and educational classes as required

- Perform all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Prior work experience of 1-3 years in a similar position in a processing/packaging environment
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics, packaging equipment, etc.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Regulations, Building Codes and Regulations
- Fork lift and other heavy equipment operation experience
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- Able to work a flexible schedule, which will include weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Able to follow spoken and written instructions in English
- Bi-lingual Spanish speaking skills a plus
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Able to push, bend, reach, stoop, squat, and pull continuously in awkward positions
- Able to walk continually on a daily basis
- Able to perform all aspects of this job (repetitive movements, standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in loud, noisy, and wet environments
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires the strict daily adherence to established biosecurity processes and procedures before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear coverings are provided by the Company. All employees are required to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). All employees are required to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
