The Position & Qualifications

BORROR is seeking a part time Maintenance Technician to join our Senior Living team! This position will oversee two properties in Lancaster and Zanesville, OH, comprised of 78 units.

The purpose of a Maintenance Technician at BORROR is to ensure that the property is running seamlessly. A Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing all resident work orders and ensures that the overall up-keep and care of the property meets BORROR's standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintains the physical assets of the property under the direction of the Property Manager
• Ensures completion of all necessary and preventative maintenance items
• Oversees overall up-keep and care of the community(s) assigned
• Organizes and maintains supply inventory for cost effective operations
• Schedules and supervises all work to be performed by outside contractors, with the assistance of the Maintenance Supervisor
• Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled
• Completes work orders, service requests, and unit turns within specified time frame and in a satisfactory manner
• Utilizes property management software to update and maintain proper work orders and service records
• Maintains property curb appeal in accordance with BORROR’s standards which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, and maintaining common areas and other areas
• Alerts the Property Manager of any unusual occurrences and/or damages that have taken place or that may occur
• Sustains positive relationships with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees by maintaining a courteous and professional manner
• Understands and adheres to budgets as outlined by the Property Manager including obtaining quotes for large or special projects
• Assures safety standards are used, which comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines, including Fair Housing
• Completes all other duties as assigned

Required Skill Sets

• Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software
• Customer focus and bottom line orientation
• Interpersonal savvy with strong communication and presentation skills. Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing
• Well organized with excellent time management skills
• Handles crisis appropriately and understands how to effectively prioritize
