The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the hotel's assets through ongoing preventative maintenance and in ensuring all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with company standards. As Columbia's only 4-Diamond luxury boutique hotel, standards and level of services must be exceptional.

Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as a Maintenance Technician you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with devotion and pride. Compensation to be discussed during the interview process based on skills and experience.

Your day-to-day:
 Repair or replace items around the hotel.
 Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests, and refurbish items in guest rooms. By keeping on top of these tasks, you’ll keep our hotels looking great.
 Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and work well. Tell them about any low running supplies.
 Organize supplies and make sure equipment is ready.
 Be ready to take on extra duties when the team needs you.
Live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment.
 Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times

Skills and experience needed:
 Painting
 Familiarity with sheetrock and plaster repair
 Familiarity with carpet repairs
 Familiarity with electrical repairs

What we need from you:
 Experience – you’ll have at least two years of general maintenance experience.
 Knowledge - general knowledge of painting, woodworking, electrical, plumbing.
 Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will bend and kneel a lot.
 A high school diploma or related vocational certificate.
 Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.

Job Type: Full-time; must be able to work an occasional weekend. Will likely vary between Mon-Fri schedule or a Wed-Sun schedule.
