provides a comprehensive range of cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services from state-of-the-art modalities at various institutions. Our patient-oriented imaging center promotes a positive experience. We are conveniently located throughout Long Island: in Lake Success and Port Jefferson Station, with affiliated locations in Riverhead, Setauket, and Southampton.

Under the supervision of the Director of Women's Health and Chief of Breast Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.


In this role you will:

  • Upload priors for radiology modalities using PACS/RIS and ensure all studies are reconciled properly.
  • Check to ensure that the most recent visit year is indicated, is properly sent on PACS, and that the work list exam clearly identifies mammography patients where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all Radiology work lists on PACS are collated with the appropriate patient for the Radiologist’s interpretation.
  • Locate and retrieve images via the Radiology Computer System and update patient information where indicated.
  • Accommodate telephone requests for exam reports and CDs in a courteous manner.
  • Make film duplicates or CDs for patient pick up.
  • Provide image or CD reference assistance to physicians.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment; maintain stock levels of supplies.
  • Attempt to solve problems and refer unsolved problems to the appropriate person.
  • Assist physician requests to the best of his/her ability.
  • Use time to maintain an even distribution of requisitions for dictation by Radiologists.
  • Utilize Radiologists’ daily schedules to assign and prioritize reading of radiology exams.
  • Be responsible for faxes and reports to doctors’ offices upon request.
  • Scan outside patient films to send on PACS.
  • Print images from PACS as requested.
  • Update patient information on PACS.
  • Retrieve patient examination on PACS.
  • Maintain all policy guidelines in regard to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.


We require:

  • Medical terminology
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Good computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Terminal Digit Filing System


Salary up to $26 per hour.
