Manager, Engineering
PLEASE NOTE: This position can be based in Austin, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Hutchinson, or Wichita.
As the Manager, Engineering you will have responsiblity for the annual planning and execution of the Transmission Integrity Management Plan (TIMP) for ONE Gas companies, operating approximately 2,400 miles of transmission pipeline in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. Primary responsibilities include managing and developing a team responsible for all elements of the TIMP program including identification of pipeline threats, determination of the integrity assessment methods for covered segments, and execution of assessment projects by In-Line inspection, Hydrotest, and Direct Assessment. You will have additional responsibilities continuously integrating information learned through the pipeline integrity assessment process and other operations and maintenance activities to develop asset risk models and identify capital improvement projects or additional preventive and mitigative measures as needed to improve pipeline integrity and safety.
What You Will Do
Manage regional and divisional engineering activities.
Direct regional and divisional engineering activities including:
Pipeline design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects
Transmission integrity management programs
Measurement, regulation, and control facilities
Gas-conditioning and compressed natural gas facilities
Pressure vessels
Direct employees engaged in engineering services including:
System expansions and relocations
New distribution systems
System map maintenance
Load analysis
Pipeline facilities record keeping
Environmental activities
Provide technical and engineering assistance to other departments, management, governmental and regulatory agencies, company attorneys, industry groups, customers, and others on projects and operations, policies, procedures, contracts, material selection, and governmental/regulatory rules, regulations, and activities.
Research, analyze, prepare, and approve information including:
Pipeline systems design criteria
Structural and material failure analysis
Policies and procedures
Contracts
Technical and governmental reports
Material selection
Planning budgets
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in engineering plus job-related experience as follows:
Knowledge and experience with pipeline and related facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects; measurement, regulation, and control facilities; gas-conditioning and compressor facilities; and pressure vessels.
Application of math, algebraic formulas, calculus, and statistics.
Use and function of office equipment applicable to position.
Training and experience related to:
Operating policies and procedures
Customer relations
Industry standards and governmental codes, rules, and regulations
Develop technical training programs
Regulatory inspection and material testing programs
Experience identifying, researching, evaluating, and prioritizing problems or specific situations and providing appropriate actions, alternatives, and recommendations.
Advising, direct, negotiate, and communicate effectively.
Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, codes and standards, manuals, policies, procedures, contracts, specifications, and various reports and correspondence.
Research, compose, and prepare contracts, engineering studies, policies, procedures, reports, and technical correspondence.
Supervise, direct, and delegate work assignments. Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Experience examining, testing, and evaluating new products, materials, and processes.
Develop information and make presentations to groups and individuals.
Read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
Registered Professional Engineer - preferred.
Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out of doors.
Operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
