Manager, Event Communications and Player Development Job at National Hockey League
SUMMARY
Provide leadership and support to the Event Communications and Player Development Department. The primary responsibilities of the department center around pre-promotion and on site execution of communications efforts around the NHL's signature events. Also, the department oversees, in cooperation with the Players' Association, the League's Player Development initiatives such as Rookie Orientation and Career Transition. The department also works closely with the Alumni Association a series of business initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Managing media relations, media operations and Player requests-both internal and external- around signature events. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to writing press releases, media advisories and developing communications plans. Additional Member Club support and interaction with League Rightsholders and Partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's Degree in Communications or marketing a plus. Minimum 5 years experience at a professional league or sports/entertainment entity.
Highly motivated and innovative and works well in a team environment. Superior attention to detail and excellent prioritization skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills necessary. Trustworthy, reliable, confident, and mature. Knowledge of the game of hockey and the NHL. Flexible work hours and travel domestic and abroad.
