Manager – Insurance and Risk Management
Job Description:
This position reports to the General Counsel and is responsible for managing the company’s various insurance programs (property, casualty, control of well, general liability, workers comp, auto, cyber, directors and officers, surety bonds), reporting and resolving insurance claims and proactively facilitating enterprise risk management. This position also routinely supports Human Resources with employee benefits and related insurance policies and claims. You will generate internal and external reports and summaries related to policy renewals, reporting compliance and claims, including close coordination with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) for QHSER, Operations, Accounting and Finance.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage annual insurance program renewals, including timely collecting and synthesizing relevant asset and financial data from SMEs, facilitating external presentations and coordinating renewal information with insurance brokers
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding insurance coverage and limits based on ongoing or expanded business operations
  • Manage ongoing insurance reporting requirements and annual/bi-annual audit processes.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with insurance brokers and claims managers
  • Comprehensive claims management, including internal and external information gathering, reporting, tracking and resolution, including consultations with employees, brokers, adjusters/carries, internal and external legal counsel
  • Prepare insurance renewal and claim summaries for internal and external reports
  • Coordinate, standardize vendor and supplier insurance requirements, reporting and compliance Support enterprise risk management function, including documenting risk monitoring, risk trending, mitigation plans, etc.
  • Partner with SMEs to develop and implement standards, processes, programs, and best practices related to insurance and risk management
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years insurance and/or risk management experience; energy experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organizational skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to interact effectively with all departments and levels of the organization, including senior management
  • Ability to efficiently synthesize information, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel skills
