SUMMARY

The Mail Center Manager leads the manufacturing processes in a manner that maximizes productivity, maximizes quality, meets scheduling requirements, minimizes costs, and maximizes profitability in accordance with company policies and procedures. The manufacturing processes include the following: planning & scheduling, digital print, mail machine inserting, shipping, receiving & warehouse, facility maintenance, equipment maintenance, 6S and other related Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

· Direct and manage scheduling, digital print, mail machine inserting, warehousing and all personnel within the facility.

· Contribute leadership for the Mail Center manufacturing site providing guidance and mentoring while resolving inquires and problems related to the manufacturing processes.

· Work with all facility associates to coordinate efforts to improve communication, increase quality, decrease inefficiencies, and foster teamwork by collaborating, engaging, and empowering associates to become part of the problem-solving process.

· Provide updates on manufacturing issues, status, and performance. Keep all of management informed of important matters.

· Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments. Coordinate manufacturing activities to obtain optimum manufacturing utilization of human resources, machine, and equipment.

· Establish, maintain, and continually improve Content Critical Solutions quality assurance system.

· Ensure continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality while reducing costs are collaborated with the Vice President of Operations & Director of Continuous Improvement when opportunities arise to create a new process or improve upon an existing process.

· Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine root cause(s) of non-conformities utilizing the 5-why technique pertaining to product specifications and operating or manufacturing problems.

· Be empowered to develop and implement operating methods and procedures with the Vice President of Operations & Director of Continuous Improvement designed to eliminate the 8 forms of waste: in-turn reducing operating problems and improving product quality.

· Read, understand, and comply with all written work instructions. Ensure all documentation is easily understood by yourself and by all your associates.

· Control operational expenses, including, but not limited to, labor, material, and supplies.

· Work with Client Services team to coordinate customer needs with manufacturing needs.

· Manage manufacturing equipment through the proper preventative maintenance processes for existing equipment.

· Determine performance standards. Ensure associates understanding and compliance with performance standards through establishment of a system of accountability of work.

· Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Ensure completion of all required paperwork, records, and documents.

· Ensure all safety, work rules and regulations are followed.

· Maintain a neat and orderly work environment by abiding to the 6S methodologies.

· Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communication.

· Work as a team and participate in Content Critical Solutions efforts to ensure continuous improvement of processes, methodologies, productivity, and quality while reducing costs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English.

· Able to handle a rapid paced work environment.

· Must be well organized and efficient.

· Must be self-motivated and responsible, must have a “take charge attitude”.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· High School diploma or College degree.

· Prior experience working in direct mail manufacturing preferred but not required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos.

· Ability to verbally communicate effectively with coworkers and Supervisor.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Able to be on feet 8 hours per day

· Able to lift 30 lbs. in repetition

· Able to move large rolls of printed forms weighing more than 200 lbs.

· Able to pull hundreds of pounds with a pallet jack
