Job Title: Manager of Accounting

Division: Central Services

Department: Accounting / Finance

Reports To: Corporate Controller

Summary: The Manager of Accounting will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will work closely with the Manager of Accounts Receviable, Manager of Accounts Payable, Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllers, and Plant Level Operations Teams, ensuring proper accounting policies and procedures are followed in support of the Company and SBU and its objectives, mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages, communicates, and conducts behavior in direct support of company foundation and pillars.*
  • Provides timely and accurate financial reports to Corporate Controller and SBU Controllers. *
  • Ensures the general ledger is accurate.*
  • Manages the monthly closing of the general ledger.*
  • Ensures that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.*
  • Works with the Corporate Controller & SBU Controllers to provide requested analysis.*
  • Evaluating internal control systems and creates efficiencies in the close process.*
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) and have the ability to learn new software programs as required.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting or related field from accredited college or university; and seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
