Manager On Duty - Opener - Eagan Community Center

The City of Eagan is hiring a part-time Manager on Duty for the Eagan Community Center! The person hired for this opening role will be the lead staff person in the absence of full-time staff. This position is responsible for the timely opening of the Eagan Community Center and startup of daily Guest Service activities. This role will serve as a forward-facing representative of the ECC, delivering quality customer service to all the facility’s users.

Job Summary:
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Perform routine opening procedures including, but not limited to, unlocking doors and turning on lights, turning on computers and logging in to membership scanning software, turning on equipment in the fitness center
- Assess the rental calendar to map out room set up needs for the day
- Set up and take down of tables and chairs for meetings and special events
- Audio/Visual support and beverage service for facility rentals
- Greet members and guests, providing information about the facility and events
Additional Position Responsibilities:
- Process and update fitness memberships
- Provide tours of the facility, pricing, and rental availability to potential renters
- Answer questions and provide information on a variety of building and city functions
- Work with all abilities and ages in a fun and safe environment
- Work alone and as part of a team
- Collect payments and registrations for services and events
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- One year of direct customer service experience in an environment that is highly visible and active
- Six months supervisory experience
- Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Year-round availability
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- One year of college work in Recreation, Education or related field. Equivalent experience would be acceptable
- More than one year of direct customer service experience in an environment that is highly visible and active
- More than six months supervisory experience
- Current CPR and first aid training and/or certification
