Opportunity overview
In this role, you will play an integral part of the finance team helping drive pricing strategy and execution. You will be involved in company-wide growth & profitability analysis, financial modeling in support of pricing and contract negotiations, and analysis for strategic initiatives and special projects from the leadership team. Working with finance and in tight partnership with department leads across the company, the Manager, Pricing Strategy will recommend prices and advise on deals to drive growth across all our product offerings.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize the company's sales and market penetration and ensure long-term profitability objectives are met
- Provide a comprehensive view of the Company's competitive pricing position and insight on the impact of pricing changes on profitability and growth rates
- Help set vision, prioritization, and roadmap for pricing initiatives, including pricing models and process improvements
- Develop analytics around pricing (e.g., price sensitivity/elasticity analysis, regression analysis, price waterfalls, etc.) and monitor price realization
- Use hypothesis-driven approach to develop business cases that align pricing with customer value and to drive growth
- Partner across Cohere's Product, Sales, Strategy and Finance teams to deliver strategic recommendations and analysis which drive growth
Your background and characteristics:
- You have 3-5 years of related work experience in monetization strategy and pricing optimization, preferably with a SAAS company
- Prior experience in defining, executing, and bringing new pricing and pricing changes and/or growth strategies to market
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior management across the organization
- You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Math, or Business Management
- You are comfortable manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting large data sets
- You are oriented to continuous improvement and data
- You are highly organized, analytical, and detail oriented
- You are able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- You are customer oriented and have a track record of providing value to internal customers
- You exercise superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues
