Snyder Equipment Company, has supplied quality products to the railroad industry since 1936. From our early days supplying water delivery systems to steam locomotives to constructing today’s sophisticated rail support equipment, we have developed extensive product lines dedicated to servicing locomotives in both freight and transit operations.
We are in the process of moving operations from Nixa, MO to a new 147,000 sqft facility in Springfield. This position will be in that new facility.

Title: Manual Machinist (HAAS CNC Mill/Lathe, 5-axis)
Reports to: Production Manager
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Set up of CNC Mills and Lathes, and Machines for production runs
2. Change tools, comp work and tool offsets.
3. Deburr parts, saw/prep raw materials.
4. Maintain on-time delivery for all jobs in production.
5. Work with tight tolerances +-.001 in high volume production scale.
6. Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
7. Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
8. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
9. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
10. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
11. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Capacity
- · High proficiency in Math – trigonometry, decimals, conversions.
- · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- · Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
- · Good mechanical skills
- · Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two + years of Manual Machining, CNC Mill or Lathe related experience.
