Purpose of the Job
This position performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/treatment processes, techniques, and methods. This position assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment related to aerospace components for new and existing parts and leads the definition and maintenance of treatment processes.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assist & internally manage implementation of the material treatment production facility.
- Manage coating, heat treatment and/or surface treatment projects related to aerospace component engineering and manufacturing for new and existing parts and assemblies.
- Establishes and maintains manufacturing methods and process sequence necessary to complete parts in accordance with safety, cost, quality and productivity requirements.
- Initiates improvement concepts and maintains close feedback with other manufacturing engineers, shop floor personnel, management and related customers and vendors.
- Leads troubleshooting of manufacturing problems and implements method and tool improvements.
- Provides estimating with support when establishing quotes.
- Participates in discussions with customers and suppliers as required.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor s degree (B.S.) in an engineering or related technical field (preferably Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) from a four-year college or university.
Skills / Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in team leadership is essential.
- Candidates must exhibit a high level of technical innovation and initiative and will serve as a technical advisor for the organization.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment.
- Able to perform hands-on shop and process design work.
- Must be able to understand and interpret complex blueprints, customer specifications, and engineering sketches.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Computer proficiency: Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Programming Skills and SPC. Must be computer literate.
- Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
