Manufacturing Engineer

Paneltronics is an industry leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of high-quality power distribution panels, switch panels, box-build assemblies, and electrical components. Paneltronics' electrical panels, assemblies, and systems are specified on a wide variety of boats, industrial equipment, specialty vehicles, recreational vehicles, trucks, and military OEM applications.

Reports to: Director of Manufacturing

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, develop, and enhance the manufacturing systems.
  • Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
  • Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Performs product/process analysis for process improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinates deployment including training of team members.
  • Assists Director of Manufacturing with improving production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and proper use of production equipment.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
  • Works on special projects including new equipment justification, installation, setup, upgrades, redesign / new design and shop efficiency improvements.
  • Leads troubleshooting of production issues
  • Responsible for requesting updates, changes, and/or improvement to drawings and bills of material via Engineering Service Request (ESR) to Engineering.
  • Assist with nonconforming material investigations, complaints and corrective actions to resolve manufacturing and compliance issues using problem solving tools and root cause analysis.
  • Designs, develops, and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies required tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Develops relationships with several departments including Engineering and Purchasing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish

Preferred Experience and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Basic electrical knowledge to support wiring and cabling of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) proficiency
