The environment is a contract machining and fabrication company utilizing an ISO 9001:2015 quality system while supporting a variety of customers with quality systems ranging from ISO9001 to TS16949. We are located approximately 25 miles west of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.
Following are requirements and potential job duties. Actual job duties will depend on the candidate’s previous experience and future needs of the company and the candidate.
§ 2- or 4-year degree in Systems, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
§ Experience working with CNC metal-cutting lathes and mills and/or typical fabrication machinery such as cutting lasers, turret presses, press brakes and welding operations is a plus; but any manufacturing experience will be considered.
§ Support the manufacturing engineering function by developing processes, specifying tooling, implementing processes and working with employees to make and ship quality parts.
- Coordinate and communicate with all other departments as required and necessary.
- Educate new employees regarding processes, quality or inspection procedures as required.
- Validate processes by establishing (or finding) product specifications and quality attributes; document evidence; determine operational and performance qualification.
- Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigate customer complaints; collaborate with other members of the staff to develop and document new part manufacturing and training methods.
- Prepare documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, capability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations.
§ Support the quality system and operators to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
§ Perform, coordinate and/or lead root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
§ Responsible to participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods as directed by the manufacturing engineering group.
§ Interface with Quality and Production personnel to ensure transfer to Production of new parts are in accordance with the specific quality plan.
§ Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
§ Work with purchasing staff to establish expectations and quality requirements from external and sub-contracted suppliers.
§ Insure compliance with national and international standards as required.
§ Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
§ Prepare spreadsheets to compile data and statistically analyze for quality assurance.
§ Monitor, improve and document manufacturing processes.
§ Specify equipment and tooling as required.
§ Perform other duties and/or tasks as may be assigned by management.
§ Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency in using SolidWorks a plus, but any CAD software is acceptable. Experience working with a CAM package would be an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
