Founded in 1996, Duplitech is one of L.A.'s most respected independent media service labs. We provide a full range of content delivery solutions: On Disc, On Demand and On DCP. Our in-house services include: 4K film scanning & digital restoration, Blu-ray/DVD authoring, mezzanine package creation & QC for digital release, technical editing and asset conform, standards conversion, subtitling, and audio restoration/up mix.
Our office is in Torrance, CA. We currently have an opening in our QC Department for a Film Restoration Master QC Technican. This position is part time and on-call based on available work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Linear assessment of video and audio files, including specialized formats such as Dolby Vision HDR.
- Film restoration QC specifically look for restoration introduced artifacts and evaluation of film defects
- QC of Film Conform to review proper framing of film element
- Color QC to confirm shot matching and general intended looks.
- Detailed reporting of errors and anomalies
- Communication with QC Managers and other Duplitech staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience in this type of QA work
- Solid understanding of film based defects such as flicker, positive/negative dirt, scratches, warps, changeover cues
- Experience with master QC of HDR files is a big plus, with an emphasis on catalog titles
- Solid Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Attention to Detail
- Must be self motivated; proactively seek to improve knowledge of testing procedures
- Individuals who are available to work evenings and weekends are preferred
