Primary Job Objective:
As a Master Scheduler, you will lead all production scheduling activities, creating and maintaining the master production schedule (MPS) for the manufacturing plant. You will craft and develop the production schedule to meet customer and business goals, considering factors such as customer demand, production capacity, material supply, material inventories, and lead time.

Responsible for the MPS plan, issuing and tracking shop orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor, production capacity is achievable, and all is according to the production schedule. Other responsibilities include expediting and prioritizing shop orders and coordinating and managing daily production schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Works closely with operations management, engineering, procurement, and other staff to develop realistic production plans that balance company capabilities and customer requirements
• Using input from the sales, inventory and operations planning (SIOP) process, creates and maintains the master production schedule (MPS)
• Considers material inventory, material leadtimes, and production capacity to effectively set the operations plan for the business
• Provides schedule visibility and priority for production at each department
• Monitor production progress to ensure that execution is occurring as planned. Drive actions to address and resolve aging orders
• Act as the focal point for reporting status and driving resolution of issues impacting schedule execution
• Perform regular material analysis to identify, prevent and resolve any material shortages
• Lead efforts to understand root cause and corrective actions for process failures relating to planning, scheduling, and execution
• Address schedule impacts, develop and monitor recovery plans
• Identify issues and present solutions
• Drive continuous improvement. Develop, document, and implement process procedures and process improvements
• Develop and maintains solid customer relationships, both internally and externally
• Work overtime as necessary to support operations
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on and working knowledge of ERP/MRP, capacity planning, and inventory management is highly desirable
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to show initiative, be self-directed and think independently
• Advanced skills and experience in the use of MS Office applications
• Must be open-minded and flexible when working on solutions
• Quality driven
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Can work with limited supervision and maintain a positive attitude
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Operating System
