Description:

  • Work with Site Leadership Team, project sponsors (site and divisional), and area managers to analyze core operational/business activities with the goal of identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities throughout the many value-streams.
  • The incumbent will be expected to lead process improvement and waste reduction projects of varying size and complexity in any of the functional areas of the site (eg. Materials Management, PPU's, Quality Assurance and Control, etc.)
  • The incumbent may also be called upon for occasional expertise involvement in such projects outside)P e boundaries of the site as the full value-stream may dictate (eg. suppliers). The incumbent will be expected to participate in fostering a culture of continuous innovation and acceptance of change throughout the site.
  • Key Responsibilities: the extent of these will be dependent on grade & experience
  • Talent Management - 50 %
  • Direct supervision of the receiving, shipping and warehouse material technicians.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure they have the necessary support/ skills/ capabilities to succeed in their role and develop their respective team members. Provide formal training/curricula for all members of the supply chain.
  • Proactively build and develop talent within the Supply Chain function and adhere to GPM requirements as appropriate.
  • Project Evaluation and Management - 15 % of the time
  • Develop a broad understanding of the operational/business processes through the entire enterprise via value-stream mapping and management of numerous diverse projects. Clarify the CTQ (Critical-to-Quality} aspects of assigned business processes by approaching issues through the eyes of both internal and external customers. Serve as team lead for multiple assigned projects. Manage projects using any of the available measures in the operational excellence toolkit through all phases from inception to completion; including problem identification and analysis, defining measurement techniques, developing and evaluating resolution option(s), determining cost/benefit relationships for option(s), facilitating change management and ensure stability of system/process changes by implementing post implementation controls.
  • Process Modeling – 15 % of the time.
  • Develop detail process models for key business process areas using appropriate software. Models will be used to perform sensitivity analyses to assess potential operational impact(s) through simulation by altering critical process variables. Models will also be used to determine optimal process set/control points.
  • Training & Education -15% of the time.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training for operational excellence program tools (eg. Lean 6-Sigma) to the rest of the site. Serve as mentor to other site co-workers assigned to projects principally by acting as expert in the application of methods available in the operational excellence toolkit.
  • Network Integration -5% of the time.
  • Collaborate with other operational excellence practitioners from other sites within the network.
  • The incumbent can be expected to participate in the development of departmental budget as well as specific project budgets, as the situation dictates. What is the value of the budget or assets administered in terms of$ or units, or end results? It may be expected that the incumbent will potentially manage specific project budgets of up to $SOOK, as individual projects circumstances dictate.
  • Reading, viewing, ability to count, perform inventory, constantly walking, talking.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an analytical discipline (statistics, mathematics, engineering, business, etc.). An advanced degree in an analytical discipline (e.g. MBA, MS, ME, etc.) Would be preferable.
  • Bachelor's Degree - 5 - 7 years.
  • Master's Degree - 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in quantitative analysis and modeling work required. Formal project management training preferred.
  • Process reengineering/ Project management/ Quantitative analysis/ Process modeling/ Change management preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques required.
  • Significant large-scale project management experience required, preferably in a regulated industry. Comfortable working with and presenting to Executive and Senior Management.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under pressure good organization and coordination skills.
  • Strong oral & verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
