Summary/Objective:


The Material Handler is responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control, including inventory cycle counts and communicating inventory needs. Other responsibilities are as follows; item journal input, inventory reconciliations, forecasting future inventory requirements, pulling, packing, and staging inventory accordingly.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with inventory management specialists to identify fast-moving parts to stock. As well as long lead time items.
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to inventory management specialists.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials or supplies in stock, and recording the location of inventory in D365.
  • Assists with item journals.
  • Works with Expeditors/Parts Sales/Service to locate materials or supplies by pulling and issuing out inventory as requested.
  • Handles inventory cycle count, and physical mid-year, and end-of-year inventory counts.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, and vehicles by hand or forklift operation.
  • Resolves inventory problems promptly.
  • Track and report non-conforming products.
  • Identify obsolete inventory.
  • Will help identify additional stock based on usage and demand.
  • Material Handler is required to work the following hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 am-5:00 pm & rotating/occasional Saturdays 7:00 am-12:00 pm on an as-need basis.
  • Subject to additional overtime as required.
  • Other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Experience with cycle counting/inventory
  • Solid mathematical skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of the goods being procured.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills for working with various departments.
  • Excellent planning skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Knowledge of construction and or diesel-powered equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
  • Physically able to climb stairs routinely.
  • Pass company forklift training.
