Job Summary:

The Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Assistant will be responsible for moving materials as assigned throughout the shop environment and will provide support as needed for the shipping receiving function.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Load/Unload/Relocate material as needed per Inventory/Production/Shipping/Quality Control requirements
• Ensures products are packed and loaded accurately on trucks
• Close out trucks when all product is loaded and double check the staging areas for shipments
• Operate forklift to supply production lines or move materials / deliveries / supplies
• Receive raw material and verify against packing slip
• Keep parts, components, packaging, and supplies in designated areas and material adequately stocked at all times
• Unload and Load trucks / freight as required
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to procure materials, parts, or containers to be moved to appropriate location to support work orders, manufacturing lines, shipping dept, or assigned work area
• Accurately compare and complete system documentation
• Correctly receives product and materials by utilizing the established receiving procedures
• Identifies damaged material
• Documents inbound and outbound transactions electronically, and can associate correct destinations

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication (written and oral)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
• Working knowledge of how to perform shipping and receiving
• Time management skills

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time
