Position Overview

The Materials Reviewer is responsible for conducting reviews of member-facing media materials used by the Plan for outreach and education purposes to potential members. The materials reviewed may include flyers, brochures, trifolds, texts, notices, etc., and will be used for outreach and potential enrollment activities as well as educational purposes to educate current members on the importance of getting preventive care.

The Materials Reviewer will interact with regulatory agencies for submission of draft materials for their review and approval. The Reviewer should have strong attention to detail, excellent written and communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Job Description

  • Ensure that the materials are accurate by verifying that the information provided is up-to-date, factual and aligns with State regulatory requirements. Check for any inconsistencies or errors in the content.
  • Check for content and to make sure that materials are written in language that is easy to understand. Verify the Line of Business for which the materials are being created.
  • Ensure that the materials comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Evaluate the message, tone and overall design of the materials.
  • Submit to regulatory agencies any materials that require review and approval.
  • Assign final codes to all materials submitted, submit and log approvals, and monitor the materials database for ongoing compliance with all material distributions.
  • Monitor and maintain Communications SharePoint site, used to track all incoming materials for review and coding approved by regulators.
  • Escalate any issues/concerns to the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs for a secondary review.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of Managed Care experience, with a focus on Medicaid, Medicare and Government Programs required.
  • Medicare experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience managing multiple requests and keeping track of incoming requests and tracking deadlines.
  • Experience in reviewing and editing materials as well as a strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to outreach and education materials in the healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including SharePoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of diplomacy and political awareness, and ability to work effectively as a member of the senior management team

  • Sound working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio as well as online/Internet-based research tools
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
