MCC Connect Coordinator Job at The Wellspring Alliance for Family
Job Purpose: To connect families to services and supports through a warm hand-off made possible by strong relationships with agencies and community members in the parish; lead strategies to connect families to each other and build natural networks of support through parent or community cafes or through the Neighborhood Team in partnership with the MCC Parish Director; work in close collaboration with the MCC Case Manager who delivers case management to families needing more intensive support.
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum of high school education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working collaboratively with agencies and families and connecting families with needed services and supports is preferred or, in the alternative, demonstrates ability to do so.
- Demonstrates understanding of protective factors that promote child wellbeing, individual and community level trauma and its impact, best practices in preventing child abuse and neglect, and disparities and disproportionalities in public systems.
- Preference will be given to candidates who most reflect the racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic status of the majority of members of the neighborhoods being served.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums

- Initial 40 hours of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault training as required by Wellspring
- Initial and ongoing MCC training in the areas of protective factors that promote child wellbeing, individual and community level trauma and its impact, best practices in preventing child abuse and neglect, and disparities and disproportionalities in public systems
- 40 hours continuing education yearly
- On-going in-service workshops, conferences and self-study
- Monthly Agency Staff meetings, program delivery meetings and program area meetings
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Delivers services by
- Serving as a community-based resource and support specialist for child wellbeing in the parish, focusing on connecting individuals to the services and supports they need and problem-solving with them to identify underlying needs and overcome accessibility and availability barriers.
- Building relationships and partnering with agencies and community members to connect individuals to community-based services and supports using the MCC Needs Assessment.
- Screening families coming into contact with MCC to determine which families need referrals to outside service providers and which will be referred to work directly with the MCC Case Manager.
- Ensuring the local juvenile court, schools, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) office, Family in Need of Services (FINS) office, Family Resource Center (FRC), other agencies, and community members understand how and why to refer families to MCC.
- Educating community members about child wellbeing and how MCC aims to increase and improve support to families to improve child, family, and community wellbeing.
- Participating in MCC Teams to build and sustain relationships with agencies and community members.
- Working in close collaboration with the MCC Case Manager to support families needing case management services.
- Designing and implementing the Parish approach to connecting families to each other and building natural networks of support through Parent Cafes, Community Cafes, and/or the Neighborhood Teams.
- Identifying services, supports, and resources in the community, including inviting agencies and community members to join MCC and connecting with information systems used by MCC partners.
- Reporting to the MCC Parish Director and utilizing the MCC State staff for support in implementation of responsibilities.
- Overseeing utilization of the MCC Management Information System(s) on the parish level.
- Tracking and reporting required qualitative and quantitative data to the MCC Parish Director and MCC State staff.
- Ensures operation of communications systems and records by
- Maintains database of records by accessing, inputting and retrieving information to computer and monitoring files for quality assurance
- Tracking outstanding records and information
- Secures information by establishing and maintaining record keeping system
- Filing documents in an organized manner
- Resolves statistical discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Produces and utilizes information by
- Transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data and graphics (may include proposals, publications, newsletters, flyers, brochures and other communications/marketing materials, etc.)
- Being knowledgeable of technical language, grammar, and appropriate structure and format
- Maintains a harmonious working relationship with collaborative and other service agencies by
- Amenable and cooperative contacts;
- Conducting oneself according to a professional code of ethics; and
- Representing the agency at local, state and national meetings
