General Purpose of Position:

Develop, design, and draft flood protection barriers, hatches and related products with an emphasis on safety, customer requirements, quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness. Utilize and develop internal and external resources and design standards as needed. Ensure that applicable requirements of an assignment are met including, but not limited to, design, function, structural integrity, manufacturability, applicability and budgetary goals.

Major Responsibilities:

• Determine design criteria from sales documents and customer supplied drawings and specifications
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of submittal drawings for customer review
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of assemblies and detail shop drawings
• Check drawings and specifications as required
• Interact with the customer as necessary
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of installation manuals and documents
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of drawing and document packages
• Provide technical assistance to Sales and other internal and external groups as required
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to model 3D parts and assemblies

Experience detailing shop drawings of machined parts, weldments and assemblies

3D CAD proficiency; preferably AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor or other similar software

Experience in the design of fabricated steel and aluminum structures

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Verbal and written communication

Internal and external liaison ability

Detail oriented

Problem solving

Read, write and understand English

Solid math skills to include Algebra and Trigonometry at a minimum

Ability to problem solve

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School

Other experience:

Associates or B.S. Degree or relevant undergraduate studies preferred

Familiarity with mechanical and Architectural blueprint reading

Two years CAD experience (AutoCAD Inventor preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
