As part of the R.A Jones Engineering team, you will be among the protagonists of our mission to bring top-notch technology and solutions to our customers. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will act in a project leading capacity, planning, developing, coordinating, and directing large engineering projects or a number of small projects with complex features.

In this role, you are expected to:

• Provide leadership and management for assigned projects
• Assist in planning, developing, and coordinating large engineering projects
• Estimate personnel needs and schedules and assign work to meet completion date, as well as provide initial analysis of budget requirements for specified projects
• Act as a technical consultant to assist in presenting solutions to the customer; assist in solving field acceptance issues
• Be responsible for engineering design reviews, ensuring fit, function and accuracy of engineering, also providing hands-on support to the project team
• Ensure that project and order engineering tasks assigned are achieved within the established budget, schedule, and priority
• Keep leaders informed on projects status by providing briefings and data when required or requested
• Follow up with other functional departments on project tasks to ensure critical job or project items are completed within the needed timelines
• Provide performance input on personnel who functioned as key players on projects
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience working on complex engineering projects
• Possess a sound knowledge of mechanical components and systems, their uses and application in the manufacturing processes; experience with OEM is strongly preferred
• Understanding and command of SolidWorks, EPDM, SAP, IES, and other engineering support and CAD tools
• Working with little to no supervision, strong sense of accountability and problem-solving attitude
• Design and produce assembly and detail drawings, BOM, timing diagrams, and related project support documentation including design basis and theory of machine operations
