Digital Media / Project Manager

Pay will be commensurate with experience (starts at $16 per hour)

Hours 20-40 per week based on applicant availability / flexible scheduling

About the Company

LA MediaWorks is a small media company based in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. Having spent 18 years living in Los Angeles building a client base, the creative work we are so lucky to do revolves around the promotion and distribution of materials to showcase the talents and abilities of actors, directors, and production companies.

Bottom line… we create kick-ass media materials to promote people and their projects within the entertainment industry. Video portfolio reels, Pitch sizzle reels, Graphic design based EPK’s, websites, and social media elements… anything that helps a person sell themselves and their talents.

About the Job

The ideal candidate is hyper organized with a great memory, learns systems and processes quick, and can connect the dots between what someone says, and how we can get them what they want, in the most efficient way possible.

Historically, this person has been me, but our flow of work has grown over time, and I need someone to manage these things for me and our small group of editors.

Comfortable managing others (including their schedules and time sensitive tasks). Part of this job will be to work as my liaison to make sure editors have the materials and information, they need to complete projects.

On point people skills - You may have client interactions, so we need someone who is confident and can act in a professional manner and be an individual that is comfortable interacting with clients over the phone and email.

Be incredibly organized - this cannot be overstated. I will expect the candidate to be able to connect dots quickly and retain and recall project info in a moment’s notice. Ideally working as the organizational brain unit for the small team of creatives

There will be some admin work required. All of it will be project related.

Technical Skills Required

You own the Internet… and I don’t just mean someone who can post on Instagram. I’m talking about an Internet search master. Someone that can identify a helpful website from click bait in moments… someone that doesn’t just look at the first two results to come to a conclusion on something… and someone who thrives on being up to date on the latest tips and tricks for browsers, search, and discovery.

You know your way around a MAC (back and front, up and down) this is important. We move quick. I need someone who embraces keyboard shortcuts… someone who understands file types (for example how a JPG is different from a PNG) and someone that is aware of file sizes and best practices for how to move small and large files.

Awareness of media apps. Specifically Final Cut Pro and the Adobe Photoshop. We can teach you what you need to know with these apps, but a general comfort level with learning new apps and workflows (an open mind) is a must.

Ideal Personal Interests

The ideal candidate would have the following personal interests

Already watches movies and tv and is generally aware of actors, what they have been in, and understands all the available streaming services and what content can be found where. For example… how do I watch last night’s episode of “Bob’s Burgers” or what service streams the new “Yellowstone” prequel.

Have an awareness and appreciation for design. The job doesn’t require you to necessarily design anything, but to feedback on projects, share ideas, and bring fun and exciting things that you see in the world back to the the team for reference and consideration.

Location

We work in a studio loft space in downtown Lincoln. We are looking for someone who can work on-site and someone who is ok working in a shared space. Part time to start is ideal with a required minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility around days and times. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.
