Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:

• Must possess a high school degree or equivalent. AA Degree in Medical Assisting preferred
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred
• Must have command of the English language
• Must demonstrate good customer service skills
• Completes Annual training requirements: Education Day, other trainings as assigned

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serves as the medical assistant for the assigned outpatient physician practice staff
• Takes vital signs (respirations, blood pressure, height & weight, temperature)
• Enters medical data into the electronic health record such as medication list, allergies, pharmacy information
• Completes medication authorizations
• Provides direct patient care to patients of all ages in a manner that considers safety, patient’s rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment
• Assists with injections as needed

• Prescription Refills
• Reviews patient record for next appointment
• Make the necessary outpatient appointment if needed
• Remind patient of 72-hr medication refill policy
• Send request to the provider

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Communication Skills
• Works with other staff in a manner that ensures a positive outcome
• Works with patients in a manner that ensures a positive outcome

Physical Requirements Necessary to Complete Essential Functions of the Job:
