Medical Assistant/Receptionist Job at Hinton Optimal Wellness
We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Receptionist to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep our medical facility running smoothly. Full-time position Monday-Thursday 8-4:30. Off every Friday and all major holidays. We are a cash-based functional medicine clinic that focuses on hormonal balance, gut optimization, detox, and weight loss.
A Medical Assistant, or a Clinical Assistant, is responsible for assisting Providers, Nurses, and health coaches in providing care to their patients. Their duties include recording and updating medical histories, medications, and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures.
Medical Assistants rely on technical skills so they understand how to use equipment to take patient vital signs. They should also be detail-oriented, as they must enter all patient data accurately in their records so doctors and insurance companies can refer to them. Medical Assistants should also have interpersonal skills so they can work with patients who may be in pain.
Medical Assistants may perform the following duties:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures as needed. We are a cash run practice so this is only need on an infrequent basis.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and update medical history, medications, supplements, etc.
- Perform data entry
- Measure and record vital signs
- Clean exam rooms, remove trash, etc.
- Answer phone calls
- Assist providers with procedures
- Prep rooms for procedures
- Inventory daily, weekly, monthly as needed
- Interacting with clients throughout their stay to ensure they have an enjoyable experience
- Scheduling appointments, appointment reminders, checking in clients, and registering them for treatments in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Processing payments by accepting credit cards from customers or collecting cash from them at the time of service
- Taking notes during client meetings to document important information about their preferences and needs
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields required.
- Preferred minimum 2 years' experience as MA
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and strong ability to multi-task job duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
