POSITION SALARY AND EXPERIENCE:
Starting salary for this position is $19.00 andup depending upon experience. Aminimum of one year medical billing experience is required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing daily billing functions.He/she interacts with patients and insurances over the phone regarding unpaid balances.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes Medical, Dental and No Fault claims; reviews claims for accuracy and completion; and submits claims electronically.
- Follows up on unpaid claim with insurances
- Verifies insurance eligibility when appropriate.
- Performs data entry of encounters when necessary, including inpatient and dental outreach.
- Prepares and prints CMS1500 and ADA claims, attaching supporting documentation when necessary.
- Performs payment posting, collections, claim denial review and credentialing when necessary.
- Sets up and monitors receivables and works account receivables reports.
- Obtains codes when necessary and verifies their accuracy.
- Participates in job-related training when necessary, including mandatory in-services and meetings.
- Responsible for reporting daily productivity to Billing Manager.
- Meets productivity standards set within the department and performs other duties assigned by the Billing Manager, including special projects.
- Provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner by phone, in writing and in person. Includes resolving simple complaints, explaining patient balances and answering general questions.
