Medical Receptionist – Full Time – Medical Practice Division Job at Montefiore Nyack Hospital
Description
Create a customer friendly environment utilizing exemplary customer service skills; greet patients upon entry to medical office, obtain all pertinent demographic information from patients and family members; schedule and verify appointments. Supports the practice answering a multi-line phone system. Assist in creating and maintaining electronic medical records. Responsible for registration, verification of insurances including Medicare and Medicaid, and collection of co-payments. Responsible for setting up patient charts and pre-registration prior to appointment and ensuring charts are complete with necessary paperwork. Scan and copy pertinent information into patients’ charts. Performs various administrative functions in support of the medical office.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; some college level courses or degree preferred. One to two years administrative experience preferred in a medical office or hospital setting, Proficiency in multi-tasking and organizational skills while supporting a multi-line phone system. Working knowledge of an EMR system. A thorough understanding of medical office terminology and procedures, insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, faxing and scanning. Must be dependable, have good work ethic and be able to travel occasionally to other offices.
