Use previous acquired skills and or gain knowledge to work in a medical record environment.
Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to patients and organizations
Fax or use of electronic medical record applications to forward medical records out to other providers and organizations
CC Letters to patient care team
Purging of old charts
Keeping Provider database up to date
Assist with importing of patient records into EHR
Handling of all medical record requests
Sort and distribute incoming faxes
Communicate as a member of a team on work progress and work yet to be done
As a medical records team member, may cross train into other areas related to medical records
Requirements
Professional communication
Computer skill to navigate electronic medical record
Phone skills including use of company phone to forward calls and knowledge of call extensions
Professional telephone presence
Knowledge of basic computer applications Outlook email, excel, Microsoft Word
Fax machine knowledge and use
Sitting, occasional standing and walking to retrieve printed material
May require lifting of 20 pounds
