We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Transcriptionist who:

Transcribes dictated operative reports, discharge summaries, history, physical examinations and other medical reports meeting required quality and productivity standards. Proofreads medical reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Essential Functions:

  • Edits and transcribes reports for inclusion in the patient records. Uses department and organization databases to run reports as required.
  • Prepares and maintains files, keeps records and performs other routine clerical tasks.
  • Answers telephone, takes messages, and provides information of a routine nature. Makes appointments and serves as receptionist, as needed.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Medical transcriptionist experience: Required
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail: Preferred
  • Pathology experience: Preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Medical Transcriptionist: Preferred
