    Mental Health Data Support Specialist

    Position Summary:
    The Mental Health Data Support Specialist is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from the district’s mental health prevention and treatment programs and disseminating results through data visualizations, formal reports, and presentations to district administrators. Daily tasks include database management, troubleshooting, and developing new systems as assigned. This position will be part of the Planning, Research, and Evaluation Department while assigned full-time to the Department of Student Services.

    Essential Duties:
    • Collect, analyze, and distribute data and reports on all EmbraceOKC programs as well as other social-emotional learning initiatives and the mental health universal screener.
    • Provide district and school site leaders key information aimed at monitoring the effectiveness of prevention and treatment programs and supports as they relate to key performance indicators.
    • Process confidential data and information according to guidelines.
    • Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
    • Participate in strategic planning meetings with various stakeholders regarding EmbraceOKC efforts.
    • Ensure that all changes in programs and outcomes are well documented.
    • Perform data validation and implement quality control measures to ensure the continued success of programs.
    • Analyze data, identify trends, and prepare reports from single or multiple systems.
    • Draft new or revised policies and procedures for data processes.
    • Advise EmbraceOKC teams with regard to planning, testing, and implementing new programs or systems.
    • Collaborate on mental health prevention and treatment program evaluations.



    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in the social sciences, statistics, computer science, or related field.
    • Work experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data.
    • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks to data collection, analysis, or reporting procedures.
    • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
    • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
    • Understanding of metadata standards.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Skills in Microsoft Excel, SPSS, or other statistical packages.
    • Demonstrated analytical, organizational problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Understanding of research and evaluation methods.



    Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
    • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of multiple databases and software systems.
    • Ability to write and modify programs to improve application processing for things such as online applications to websites, data transfer to internal databases, and processing of the application data.
    • Ability to collect and analyze complex sets of data.
    • Ability to respond to requests from supervisors and users and perform tests to identify ways to solve database usage concerns and malfunctions.
    • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong project management skills.
    *Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.

    Physical/Mental Requirements:
    • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
    • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
    • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
    • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.

    Work Environment:
    • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.
