Mental Health Professional/Clinician Job at Castlerock Consulting
At Youth Homes, the Mental Health Professional/Clinician is primarily responsible for providing individual, family, and group therapy to youth or young adults. This role works closely with the youths/young adults, family/caregivers, community partners, collaborating on progress towards treatment goals and milestones.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you can work in one of our Community-Based or Residential Treatment Programs.
- In a Youth Homes Residential Program
- Focuses on delivering culturally mindful, comprehensive behavioral mental health evaluations and assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, participation in family conferencing when appropriate, provision of individual and collateral therapy, crisis management, and coordination of care
- In the Community
- Travel to meet with adolescent-age foster youth and their family/caregivers, and teachers in their home/school environment throughout Contra Costa County
- Travel to meet with Young Adults (aged 18-25) struggling with mental health challenges and transitioning out of the foster care system. Meet with them in their home or work settings throughout Contra Costa County.
Key Responsibilities
TAY Programs
- The Clinician guides and supports clients to establish independence through accessing and securing various resources for successful independent living. Assist young adults in building coping skills and achieving independent functioning to the best of their ability.
- Work with young adults to gain mental health stability and pursue independence through vocational and academic opportunities. Works as a liaison with other community providers and agencies.
Family Pathways Program
- Responsible for providing Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) services to foster youth so they may experience a long-term, safe and stable home environment
- Coordinates the Child and Family Team (CFT) members and facilitates CFT meetings to ensure that all team members are present, equal participants, and have a "voice and choice" in the decision-making process
- The Clinician provides one-on-one support, guidance, and advocacy to clients. The Clinician helps facilitate problem-solving and conflict resolution to support children and their families in attaining their goals
- Responsible for providing individual field-based therapy for youth with severe mental health challenges and family therapy for youth and their families
Residential STRTP Programs
- The Clinician provides support and continuity of care by thoroughly addressing dysregulated behaviors through problem-solving and crisis intervention services
- The Clinician provides developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, therapeutic services to youth that reside in our residences and coordinates case management as needed
Key Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
- Current License in good standing or Active/Good Standing Registration number with BBS (i.e., AMFT/ASW/LMFT/LCSW, LPCC)**
- Reliable/Insured transportation and current Driver's License in good standing/no restrictions
