Decisive Intelligence, Inc. has an immediate opening for an exciting opportunity seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer located in Huntsville, AL.
**This position requires an ACTIVE DoD Secret Security Clearance (which requires U.S. citizenship) in order to be considered**
Position Description:
Software development team member using an agile development process to develop software products for the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons System (GWS). The software engineer provides software architecture, development, integration, and test for various components of the GWS.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Work in a disciplined DevSecOps environment in cooperation with System Engineering, Cybersecurity, and IT teams.
  • Participate in code reviews and be responsible for writing unit and functional software tests for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
  • Resolve software problem reports.
  • Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
  • Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, and use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) in place of new development and conducts requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer on large-scale, Agile-based DoD software development program is required.

  • Experience with C/C++ and Java is required including expertise in multi-threaded and real-time processing, scheduling, synchronization, and memory management.
  • Must have experience with GitLab and software factory CI/CD pipeline.
  • Must have experience in all phases of the software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.
  • Must have familiarity with a structured process-driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking, and build release practices.
  • Experience with applied automated testing techniques including unit and integration testing is required.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Experience developing software on Linux OS is preferred.
  • Experience with static analysis tools such as Coverity or Understand.
  • Experience with test framework/application and system verification is a plus.

Decisive Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a Software development team member using an agile SCRUM development process with a CI/CD development pipeline to develop software for an Order of Service Resolution Engine supporting a large defense system.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g. processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
  • Use technologies such as Neo4j, Node.js, React.js, and Python to implement a suite of constraints, Order of Service Resolution Engine, and corresponding graphical user interface.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience Requirements:
10+ years experience as a Software Engineer on large-scale, Agile-based DoD software development programs is required.

  • Experience with Neo4j, Node, React.js, or Python is required.
  • Must have experience in all phases of the software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.
  • Must have familiarity with SCRUM-based Agile processes and experience with CI/CD (preferably GitLab pipeline).
  • Must have familiarity with a structured process-driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking, and build release practices.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Experience in the use of CI/CD tools, JIRA, GitLab, SonarQube, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with data science technologies such as Hadoop, HIVE, and graphing databases.
  • Experience or certification as a SCRUM Master or Product Owner is a plus.
  • Experience with test framework/application and system verification is a plus.
