Middle School Teacher Job at Ranch Hope
Ranch Hope is currently recruiting a Special Education Teacher for our school located in Alloway.
Experience working with adolescents that require trauma informed care is preferred but not required.This position includes a 7 hour work day and school calendar schedule. Additional shifts are available but not required during Extended School Year.
Ranch Hope is a non-profit Residential Treatment Center with locations in Salem and Gloucester Counties. Since 1964 our mission has been to transform lives through Christ-centered love and compassion while providing residential treatment, shelter, camp, special education and independent living services to youth from throughout the state of New Jersey. As part of our team you will learn about how trauma impacts the brain and will use new knowledge to assist youth in successfully meeting their academic and treatment goals.

JOB GOAL
To provide an approved educational program for special education students residing in a residential treatment program; to establish a classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth; to help pupils develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to provide a strong foundation for continued education; and to maintain professional relationships. Willing to learn the Nurtured Heart Approach and how to provide Trauma Informed Care to special education students residing at Ranch Hope. Paraprofessionals and Behavior Intervention Team are available to assist as needed to maintain strong classroom management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate Middle School. Middle School Specialization in the Core Subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies). Background check is required. Newly Certified Elementary/Middle School teachers will be considered but must be willing to obtain a Special Education Teacher Endorsement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and Effective teaching methods.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Able to handle behavioral distraction/interruptions daily while maintaining a strong learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with technology resources.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship.
REPORTS TO
Principal and Designated Administrators.
SUPERVISES
Pupils, and when assigned, classroom aides.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 month contract as per the school calendar. Option of working extended school year.
Salary range is based on your Department of Education Certification Status.
