Sunbelt Forest Ventures is seeking a self-motivated individual to join a fantastic team at our Selma Sawmill!

Key duties, expectations, and responsibilities include:

• Manage the layout, placement, and instillation of production equipment to maximize effectiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and overhaul mechanical and production equipment including but not limited to: pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, gears, and other types of production equipment
• Address mechanical malfunctions
• Adjust general controls, settings, and regulators
• Produce precision metal parts using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and spindles
• Assembles and installs new machines and equipment
• Tests, adjusts, and makes corrections to machines and production equipment to meet production needs and goals
• Reads and interpret diagrams and blue prints to identify proper layouts and production process flow
• Conducts preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
• Coordinates with Production teams, hourly team members, plant leadership, and other maintenance team members to minimize down time and improve effectiveness and efficiency
• Promote safe work practices including LOTO, Confined Space and Hot Works processes and procedures
• Schedule and organize work methods, materials and parts.
• Operate maintenance equipment (forklifts, aerial lift platforms, skid steer loaders)
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Respond to and address machine/equipment breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
• Complete assigned work orders and PM activities
• Will assist maintenance mechanics and operators as necessary when needed to support production including all the above listed tasks
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure within time constraints
• The successful candidate should be self-motivated and possess a team oriented, positive attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a desire to learn, and a bias towards growth!

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must have a strong mechanical aptitude and possess 5 years of industrial mechanic experience - preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
