Space Systems is searching for multiple experienced Manager of Programs, M2, to join the Minotaur Program team within the Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ. The Minotaur Program provides space launch services to the US Space Force and other DoD customers. This position reports to the Minotaur Chief Engineer and works in concert with Minotaur Program team to support the entire Minotaur portfolio of launch vehicle configurations. Most Minotaur engineering efforts occur in Chandler, AZ; launch activities occur at various federal launch sites in the United States.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Minotaur Program Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a cross functional team consisting of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel in the successful execution of all phases of the Minotaur lifecycle. You support program execution including ongoing development activities, production, test, and flight operations for the Minotaur program. You support the Minotaur Chief Engineer in the technical oversight of the Minotaur program and the Minotaur Program Manager by ensuring proper allocation and coordination of engineering resources.

  • Lead a vehicle team to achieve 100% mission success.

  • Maintain working relationships with the Customer, providing timely communication and engaging to resolve technical questions posed by the Customer.

  • Manage, control, and administer the successful performance of technical tasks.

  • Help resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and system performance.

  • Execute project management for Minotaur launch vehicles, including integrated milestone schedule (IMS) management, earned value management system (EVMS) management and daily issue resolution.

  • Manage, control, and administer the successful performance of technical tasks.

  • Help resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and system performance.

  • Participate in the Configuration Control and Risk Review Boards.

  • Manage the resolution of component and supplier issues related to these vehicles

  • Support flight operations at the Launch Site.

  • Brief senior management on project status and technical details approximately monthly

  • Perform other duties, as necessary, commensurate with the role of Program Engineering Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a BS degree in Engineering and nine (9) years of related experience; Masters Degree plus seven (7) years of related experience.

Position is located in Chandler, AZ and requires 100% on-site support.

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication excellence with customers and all levels of management

Experience developing project cost and schedules and managing efforts via EVMS

Exceptional leader of a multi-disciplined team

Thorough understanding of design standards, procurement processes and configuration management

Ability to work under limited supervision and complete projects on time and on budget

Multi-disciplinary engineering experience -or- system engineering experience

U.S Citizenship.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the space launch services and vehicles.

Experience with tactical execution of field operations.

Established relationships with users of Minotaur Launch Services.



Salary Range: $127,700 USD - $191,500 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
