Description/Job Summary

Mixing Operator: Position Grade C (Entry-level)

Position Objective

The mixer Operator "C" level is responsible for being sure that all mixing he or she does is done completely and correctly. They are responsible for the safety and housekeeping assigned work area. They will be able to perform these objectives through continuous training and clear work instructions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Able to operate all equipment that is used in the mixing department.
• Oversees the housekeeping practice and 5's practices in their assigned work area.
• Insure that all mixing equipment is in proper working condition.
• Insures that all mixing compounds are to the highest standards and meet extrusion requirements.
• Capable of running the mixer with little or no supervision.
• Capable of performing formulating change over with little or no supervision.
• Is able to minor troubleshooting of mixing equipment.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
• Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduate minimum.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years PVC work experience.
• Mechanical ability and hands on person.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Mixing Operator: Position Grade B

Position Objective

The mixer Operator "B" level is responsible for being sure that all mixing he or she does is done completely and correctly. They are responsible for the safety and housekeeping assigned work area. They will be able to perform these objectives through continuous training and clear work instructions.

• Insure that all mixing equipment is in proper working condition.
• Insures that all mixing compounds are to the highest standards and meet extrusion requirements.
• Able to operator all equipment that is used in the mixing department.
• Capable of running the mixer with little or no supervision.
• Capable of performing formulating change over with little or no supervision.
• Is able to troubleshooting most mixing equipment abnormal with little or no supervision.
• Understands and is able to do manual additive mixing with no supervision.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
• Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

Mixing Operator: Position Grade Sr.

Position Objective

The Sr. Mixer Operator is responsible for being sure that all mixing he or she does is done completely and correctly. They are responsible for the safety and housekeeping assigned work area. They will be able to perform these objectives through continuous training and clear work instructions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Direct supervisory responsibility over the mixing department, in the absent of the mixing supervisor.
• Able to operate and provide training on all equipment that is used in the mixing department.
• Oversees the housekeeping and 5's practices in their assigned work area.
• Insures that the raw material warehouse is orderly and kept clean.
• Insures that all mixing equipment is in proper working condition.
• Insures that all mixing compounds are the highest standards and meets extrusion requirements.
• Able to trouble shoot all mixing department abnormal, both equipment, and processing.
• Capable of setting up all mixers for production and able to perform all mixing operator job task
  • Hot and cold mixer set up.
  • Manual additive mixing.
  • Color change overs.
  • Empty rail cars.
  • Filling of day tanks.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
• Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
