Position Overview

Performs wide array of direct and indirect services in the Crisis Services system. Develop an ongoing implementation of standardized clinical tools including Mental Status Exams, Continuous Quality Control, LRA Management, chart reviews, maintaining clinical quality in Crisis Services through observation of staff and clinical functions. Assessment and safety planning for persons experiencing acute/urgent emotional or mental problems. Emphasis is on outreach to the community as member of a team with the goal of diverting hospitalization when possible, clinical oversight of Crisis staff, field supervisions, etc.

Summary of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Suicide risk evaluations and recommendations.
  • Crisis Counseling.
  • Referral to appropriate resources and/or follow-up with clients.
  • Coordinate interactions with Designated Crisis Responders and other entities, including community members and community partners.
  • Conduct critical incident stress debriefings as requested.
  • May provide other clinical services when/as time permits.
  • Clinical Paperwork
  • Document all phone and face-to-face contacts before end of shift.
  • Identify methods of improving quality by reviewing clinical records of clients that have been seen by clinicians in the department and measuring data against standards identified by the agency.
  • Monitor LRA's to ensure that agency standards are being met and that individuals on LRA's are being seen in accordance with state statutes.
  • Make recommendations to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify areas where improvement is needed and work with Crisis Director in establishing protocols and procedures to ensure standards are being bet.
  • Meet with Crisis staff for peer consultation.
  • Provide and/or coordinate case consultation with community services, mental health therapists, family, and nursing homes, as appropriate, and with consumer's written consent.
  • Assist in triage and coordination with other staff to provide appropriate levels of response to requests for assistance.
  • Participate as member of the Crisis team and CW team at large.
  • Participate in the Agency's public education program.
  • Be available to provide crisis intervention outreach services as appropriate. Be continuously available during periods of coverage, including ensuring that his/her location is known at all times and also how he/she can be contacted.
  • Attend all crisis response staff meetings and training meetings as required; attend appropriate workshops or seminars as identified by the Director of Crisis Services.
  • Attend other appropriate staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Provide consultation, education and training for Center staff and other agencies or individuals as deemed appropriate by the Crisis Director.
  • Assist the Director with on-boarding training for new employees.
  • Work with the Director on an approval process of progress notes for compliance.
  • Assist Director with auditing charts for compliance and professionalism.
  • Be familiar with laws and regulations governing emergency services and ensure that legal, ethical, and professional standards are maintained.
  • Assist Crisis Director in implementing clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate clinical care standards for Crisis with the Director of Crisis Services.
  • Effective use of technology and software including but not limited to: computers, phones, email, EHR, etc.
  • Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team-oriented.
  • Promote and model an attitude of professionalism within the team.
  • Effective time management including but not limited to: planning ahead where possible, be punctual in person and with work performed.
  • Build strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Be receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and embrace continuous improvement.
  • Complete all documentation, reporting, and other paperwork per agency standards.
  • Attend all appropriate staff, organizational, and external meetings.
  • Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Assist Admin Director with Mobile Crisis Team scheduling.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, behavioral, medical or nursing sciences.
  • The Clinical Coordinator for Crisis Services shall have at least one year experience either past or present working in Crisis Services.
  • Upon hire: professional registration or certification by the Licensing Department of the State of Washington as a counselor.
  • Required to have a valid Oregon or Washington Driver's License and automobile with insurance.

Coordinators must possess a high level of skill in their primary job description and show potential for leadership in that area. Coordinators must possess leadership qualities, excellent decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and within a team, and be willing to set a positive example for other employees. Coordinators must be prepared to represent the agency to the community in a positive and constructive manner.

Salary: $21.95/hr
