Paragon Industries, Inc. has been manufacturing high-quality steel pipe for over 40 years. Our business has evolved into a diverse product line, which includes pipe for the Mechanical, Fire Protection, Line, OCTG, and Construction applications.

The Mobile Equipment Operator shall operate of equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Types of equipment consist of articulated wheel loaders, track hoes, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, front end loaders and graders. Operator must operate the equipment he/she is trained and qualified for. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant cooperation during his/her shift. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, steel-toed work boots, hearing protection, safety vest and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

• Qualifications:
  • Ability to operate Articulated Wheel Loaders
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent job knowledge and experience to perform the functions of the job.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating, equipment, and machinery and hand tools.
  • Experience and Knowledge of operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Employee must be able to respond to call outs when required.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.

• Responsibilities:
  • Load material onto railcars as directed.
  • Operate heavy equipment to process scrap pipe and steel products by cutting to required specifications.
  • Sorting, stacking, piling and moving of material to process to correct lengths, widths, sizes and grades.
  • Load material into truck trailers as directed.
  • Fill out any required forms or documents such as safety or maintenance checks as required by standard operating procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment as required such as fluids, coolant and oils.
  • Safety is our number one priority. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules and ensure machine or equipment is managed in a safe and secure way
  • Employee must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Equipment must be maintained and kept free of trash or debris.
  • Other duties as assigned.
