About Pace:

Pace Transportation Services is a multi-location industry leader in semi-trailer parts, sales, leasing, and service/repair. We are currently seeking a Mobile Technician for immediate hire at our Byron Center branch. This position will involve traveling locally to customer facilities for service and maintenance work on trailers. Position may require one week per month of after-hours/on-call work.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Travel locally to worksites to repair or replace damaged or worn parts
• Evaluate and diagnose mechanical & electrical problems
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
• Dismantle, reassemble, and fabricate repairs on semi-trailers
• Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED – Required
• 2-5 years’ experience with heavy duty equipment repair – Preferred
• Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program – Preferred
• Trailer body and/or Welding and Fabrication experience – Preferred
• Having your own hand tools is a plus, but not all required (larger equipment/tools will be supplied by Company).
• Ability to operate heavy duty equipment
• Time management
• Self-starter with a great attitude
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to obtain a Medical DOT Card (company paid)
