Mobile Therapist (MT) Job at Staffmore, LLC
Description:
The Mobile Therapist provides intensive therapeutic services to a child and family in settings other than a provider agency or office. The basic intervention technique is to assist the child/family in communicating their needs/issues and to help them to better understand and resolve issues that impede emotional development and growth. Other potential settings for the Mobile Therapist services include school, church, community center, neighbors or extended family member’s home and other community settings.
Essential Duties:
- Assess the strengths and therapeutic needs of the child and family, and develop a working treatment plan to be updated quarterly.
- Include the parents and/or legal guardian as members of the treatment team, and as active and equal participants, in the treatment process.
- Include the child as an active participant in his/her treatment.
- Provide child-centered, family-focused, individual and family therapy as agreed upon by the Mobile Therapist and family.
- Utilize a strengths based approach when addressing identified problems.
- In collaboration with other involved professionals, develop routines to be implemented during times of transition and/or crisis as well as 24 Hour crisis plan.
- Maintain records of service delivery noting progress and problem areas.
- Report to a licensed Mental Health Professional for clinical supervision as needed.
- Attend all training and in-services as required.
- Participate in interagency team planning meetings.
- Other reasonable and necessary duties as described by specific as need and approved and directed by the director of the program.
Qualifications:
- Licensed in PA as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker; OR
- Licensed in PA as a social worker or behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services; OR
- Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults and a graduate degree with at least 9 credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that hasbeen evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services; OR
- Completed a clinical or mental health direct services practicum and have a graduate degree with at least 9 credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling, or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
Insurance:
Must have current Professional Liability Insurance; GENERAL LIABILITY of 500,000 per occurrence and $1,500,000 in the aggregate, along with evidence of participation in the PA
Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error (MCARE) fund; OR 1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate if not approved for MCARE.
Clearances:
- PA Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
- PA Act 34 Pennsylvania State Criminal Clearance
- PA Act 114 FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Others required by the client agency
Trainings (paid for by IC):
- PA Act 31 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting.
- Any additional education, training, or supervision requirements stipulated by the Department of
- Public Welfare with Medical Assistance Bulletins.
- Participation in all mandatory and ongoing trainings.
- Regular/documented clinical consultation from an individual meeting the State/Local criteria for Clinical Supervisor.
