The Monitor Tech’s primary functions are to monitor, report, and document the cardiac rhythm of Critical Care and Telemetry adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The work is performed in compliance with the established policies of the health care system and reflects the philosophy of the hospital as well as the mission of the department of nursing. The MT reports to the Clinical Director.

Job Description

The Monitor Tech’s primary functions are to monitor, report, and document the cardiac rhythm of Critical Care and Telemetry adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The MT reports to the Clinical Director.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: High School graduate with reading and writing skills. Some previous computer knowledge/use or training with adequate typing skills. Competencies in basic arrhythmia and/or comparable experience.

Experience: None required but some knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Completion of BLS required.
