Step into your ideal role as a Motor Vehicle Operator/Aide in Detroit!

What You Will Be Doing:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, some of the duties the Motor Vehicle Operator/Aide will include but are not limited to:

  • Keep the assigned vehicle clean interior and exteriors
  • Ability to keep appointments and adhere to agreed upon schedule, as well as, notifies appropriate client contact of schedule changes due to unforeseen events.
  • Report as soon as possible any problems or concerns regarding a specific client or transportation request.
  • Ensures quality, service, compliance with the IPOS and with funders, CARF, legal and AWBS requirements, standards and ethical practices.
  • Performs all safety checks such as: ensuring passengers are wearing fastened seat belts, checking off passengers (names with faces), performing head counts, and performing van sweeps after each trip.
  • Interest and aptitude for working with persons who are at risk because of age, income, mental or physical health, developmental disability education, coping ability or environment.

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

  • Physical, mental and emotional condition adequate for performance of the work.
  • Ability to push and/or pull up, left, bend, kneel and squat to assist consumers.
  • Ability to reach and lift.
  • Ability to physically assist consumers needing assistance with walking, transportation and wheelchair movement.
  • Ability to use small muscles to type, write, and other movements.

Who We Are Looking For

All Well-Being Services is looking for a well-rounded, empathetic Driver that will go above and beyond for the consumers we serve. A candidate looking to be successful at this position embodies excellent communication skills, a strong and efficient work-ethic, who is detailed-orientated and ready to impact the lives of many!

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License, Chauffeur or CDL - passenger endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
  • 1-2 years of satisfactory work experience providing transportation services to individuals or groups as large as 15 people.
  • Experience working with persons who are at risk because of age, income, mental or physical health, substance use disorder, developmental disability and coping ability or environment. · Experience operating wheelchair lifts.
  • Ability to use MS Outlook, MS Word; MS Excel at a moderate level with ability to learn new computer software programs as required.
