Description:
The Township of Irvington is seeking to hire a Municipal Court Administrator with an understanding of case flow management, working knowledge of ATS/ACS systems, MACS, and Page Center as well as Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel. Candidate must have excellent customer service, writing, and communication skills, be motivated and a self-starter for this court to work under the general direction of the Municipal Court Director and the Municipal Court Chief Judge. Full certification by the State of New Jersey will be required in accordance with laws of the State of NJ. Candidates must comply with the Code of Conduct of Judiciary Employees. Candidates must be willing to attend Principles of Municipal Court Administration classes and maintain their certification.
Education:
Graduation from a High school or equivalent.*_

Experience:
One (1) year of experience in work related to the administrative operation of a court, law enforcement agency, law firm, or government agency, including the preparation and/or processing of legal documents. Current certification as a Municipal Court Administrator pursuant to NJSA 2B:12-11 or Accreditation pursuant R.1:41-3(a) may be substituted for the indicated experience and are preferred.
Examples of Work:
Supervises and/or performs quasi-judicial aspects of the court’s operations and assists in administrative activities, as well as attends meetings as required, monitors the physical condition of the court premises and maintains decorum therein. Plans arrangements for court sessions, assures that courtroom facilities are available and that appropriate staff have been trained and assigned.
Responds to telephone inquiries from the public/litigants/as well as outside agencies. Supervises and directs the disposition of correspondence (including OPRA requests).monitors court accounting and auditing and oversees the maintenance of property controls and inventories. Maintains and/or supervises the filing of complaints, processes, court records, cash books, statistical records, reports, and files.
Assigns duties to court personnel and supervises/evaluates their performance in their respective functions, provides instructions to office staff on activities related to the implementation of court rules, state statutes, local ordinances, and local court policies. Accepts complaints and takes oaths. Performs related duties as assigned.

Duration: January 13th 2023*_

Hours: Monday – Friday (between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm)
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
